LATIN NAME:RHODODENDRON 'Conlil'
Encore® Azalea Autumn Lilac® is a compact evergreen shrub admired for its beautiful lavender-purple blooms and glossy dark green foliage. Unlike traditional azaleas, Autumn Lilac® blooms in spring and continues flowering throughout summer and fall, providing months of color in the landscape. Its dense growth habit makes it an excellent choice for foundation plantings, borders, containers, and garden accents. It typically reaches 4 feet in height and width.
Amount of Sunlight: Tolerates full sun; prefers partial shade
Amount of Water: Water regularly, especially during periods of extreme heat
Soil Conditions: Prefers moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil
Cold Hardiness Zone: 6–10
This easy-to-maintain shrub thrives when given regular watering during its establishment period. Once mature, it becomes relatively drought tolerant but will perform best with occasional deep watering during dry conditions. Applying mulch around the base of the plant will help retain moisture, regulate soil temperature, and protect the root system. Light pruning immediately after the spring bloom cycle will encourage healthy growth and abundant flowering throughout the season.
