LATIN NAME:RHODODENDRON 'Conlen'
Encore® Azalea Autumn Princess® is an evergreen shrub prized for its abundant, bright pink blooms and glossy dark green foliage. Unlike traditional azaleas that bloom only once each year, Autumn Princess® produces vibrant flowers in spring and continues reblooming throughout summer and fall. Its compact, rounded growth habit makes it an excellent choice for foundation plantings, borders, containers, and landscape accents. It typically grows to approximately 4 feet tall and 3.5 feet wide.
Amount of Sunlight: Tolerates full sun; prefers partial shade.
Amount of Water: Water regularly, especially during periods of extreme heat.
Soil Conditions: Prefers moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil.
Cold Hardiness Zone: 6–10
This low-maintenance shrub benefits from consistent watering while the root system becomes established. Once mature, it becomes more tolerant of occasional dry conditions, although supplemental watering is recommended during extended periods of drought. Applying mulch around the base of the plant helps retain moisture, regulate soil temperature, and protect the root system. Light pruning immediately after the spring bloom cycle will encourage healthy growth and plentiful flowering throughout the growing season.
