LATIN NAME:HYDRANGEA MACROPHYLLA 'Bailmacsix'
Endless Summer® Pop Star® Hydrangea is a compact, reblooming lacecap hydrangea known for its brilliant blue or pink blooms and lush green foliage. Unlike traditional hydrangeas, Pop Star® blooms on both old and new growth, producing flowers from late spring through fall and providing months of continuous color. Its compact growth habit makes it an excellent choice for foundation plantings, borders, containers, and cottage gardens. It typically grows to approximately 18 to 36 inches tall and 24 to 36 inches wide.
Amount of Sunlight: Prefers morning sun with afternoon shade but tolerates partial sun.
Amount of Water: Requires regular watering, especially during periods of extreme heat.
Soil Conditions: Prefers moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter.
Cold Hardiness Zone: 4–9
This easy-to-grow shrub thrives in consistently moist soil and benefits from a layer of mulch to help regulate soil temperature and retain moisture. Because Pop Star® blooms on both old and new growth, heavy pruning is not necessary. Simply remove any dead or damaged stems as needed to encourage healthy growth. The color of the flowers may change depending on the pH of the soil, with acidic soils producing blue blooms and alkaline soils encouraging pink blooms.
