Thunderstruck White Lightening Crape Myrtle

$19.08

LATIN NAME:LAGERSTROEMIA

The Basics

Thunderstruck™ White Lightning™ Crape Myrtle is a beautiful deciduous ornamental tree prized for its brilliant white blooms and striking dark foliage. Large clusters of pure white flowers emerge during the summer months, creating a dramatic contrast against the deep burgundy to nearly black leaves. Its upright growth habit and excellent disease resistance make it an outstanding choice for privacy screens, borders, accent plantings, and focal points throughout the landscape. It typically reaches 15 to 20 feet in height and 10 to 12 feet in width.

The Needs

Amount of Sunlight: Prefers full sun.

Amount of Water: Requires regular watering while becoming established but is drought tolerant once mature.

Soil Conditions: Prefers well-drained soil and adapts well to a variety of soil types.

Cold Hardiness Zone: 6–9

The Care

Thunderstruck™ White Lightning™ thrives in warm climates and performs best when planted in an area that receives at least six hours of direct sunlight each day. Applying mulch around the base of the plant will help conserve moisture, regulate soil temperature, and protect the root system. This variety is highly resistant to powdery mildew and leaf spot, making it easier to maintain than many traditional crape myrtle varieties. Light pruning in late winter or early spring will help maintain its shape and encourage vigorous new growth.
