Variegated ginger has attractive yellow and green variegated, lance-shaped foliage. This plant has an upright clumping growth habit and smells like culinary ginger. Variegated ginger can reach heights of 10 feet, but will only grow to be 3-4 feet tall in gardens and when grown as an annual. Its shell-shaped flowers grow in drooping cone-shaped clumps and are pearly white with brightly colored red-orange and yellow interiors.
